Bridge Club raise £1,035 for CRUK

Wednesday 30th October saw 60 bridge players enjoying a friendly duplicate drive and afternoon tea in the village hall, raising an amazing £1,035 for Cancer Research UK. Becky Elphick ,the Area manager for CRUK, gave a very informative talk about the work of the organisation.

This was a joint venture with two village organisations, Woodborough Bridge Club and the Woodborough Branch of CRUK, working together to run a successful fund raising event. The Woodborough branch of CRUK generously provided the delicious afternoon tea and managed the raffle whilst the Bridge Club ran the drive and paid for the hire of the hall. It was a welcome return for the Bridge Club to hold an annual charity event for the first time since 2019. The two winning pairs were Steve Fordham and Dan Zimek, Val Hill and Wendy Dixon . They were presented with bottles of wine and chocolates.

Thank you to everyone who supported us.
