Works to Playing Field

Work is due to start along the dyke on the far side of the playing field this week. This will involve clearing some of the new growth blocking the edge of the dyke so that water flow is not restricted. Work will also be carried out to create a slight drop towards the dyke behind the houses to ensure water drains away more effectively and avoids the risk of homes being flooded.

None of this work should impede the sports use of the field. Would parents please ensure that their children do not interfere with the works and are fully supervised near the dyke for their own safety. Whilst the dry weather means that the dyke is dry currently, it is important for the village that the dyke remains clear so that when we do get heavy rain it is able to drain water away effectively.
