The Parish Council is delighted to have provided and fitted a defibrillator outside the office at Killarney Homes on Moor Lane for all the residents. Woodborough Parish now has 5 defibrillators, they are sited as follows:
The telephone box on Main Street near the junction with Foxwood and Bank Hill,
Outside the Nags Head Pub (this is temporarily out of action)
The main reception / office at Killarney Homes - on the external wall to the right of the door.
The Woodborough Gym have privately purchased a defibrillator that they have inside the building.
To access a defibrillator you need to ring 999 and ask for the ambulance service - do this whilst you are by the defibrillator - this enables the ambulance to check your location. They will then give you the code to open the case and you can take the defibrillator to the patient. The machine tells you how to use it.
Whilst some of the defibrillators were originally sourced by village fund raising by The Woodborough Community Association and The Nags Head, the Parish Council funded another two and now pays for the maintenance of 4 of them.
